Sanger Mayor Joshua D. Mitchell, in a signed and sealed proclamation, mentioned Zed’s “initiatives to bring various religious communities together throughout the world so that they can live in peace and mutual trust and enrich themselves through dialogue.”
The proclamation acknowledged: “Rajan Zed is a religious statesman who has taken up interfaith, Hinduism, religion, environment, Roma and other causes all over the world”.
Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, delivered on July five the first historic Hindu invocation of Sanger City Council in its 101 years of incorporated existence. After sprinkling few drops of water from holy river Ganga of India, he recited from Rig-Veda, the oldest scripture of the world still in common use, besides lines from Upanishads and Bhagavad-Gita (Song of the Lord), both ancient Hindu scriptures.
Bestowed with World Interfaith Leader Award; Zed is Senior Fellow and Religious Advisor to Foundation for Religious Diplomacy, Spiritual Advisor to National Association of Interchurch & Interfaith Families, etc.
