Sanjay Baweja, Chief Financial Officer of Flipkart quits the company
In another high level exit in Flipkart, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Sanjay Baweja has resigned from the company.
Baweja, 56, had joined the e-commerce giant in November, 2014 and was spearheading financial initiatives and fund-raising for the company. Prior to Flipkart, Baweja had worked with Tata Communications.

As per reports, Baweja was part of the senior management under whom the company performed terribly last year. The company also lost market share to Amazon as well as failed to raise fresh funds.

This is another in the list of high level exits that the company has been seeing and follows the exit of Rajinder Sharma, the Legal Head of the company who left Flipkart just ten months after joining it.

A Flipkart spokesperson confirmed Baweja's exit and said that he will continue with the company till end of December.

Kalyan Krishnamurthy, head of category management at Flipkart who has previously served as the CFO of the company may serve as the interim CFO till a proper replacement is found. Krishnamurthy had joined Flipkart from its largest investor Tiger Global Management.

The company, which was launched by two former Amazon employees, is struggling to battle Amazon and at the same time focus on profitability as well, it has been seeing a number of changes in the top level management.

Mukesh Bansal, the founder of Myntra (Flipkart acquired) had joined the company as well but later left again. With Bansal, Chief Business Officer of the company, Ankit Nagori had left as well.
