Sanjay Dutt shifted to Yerawada jail where other convicts of 93 blasts are kept
Even when actor Sanjay Dutt is locked up in jail, he is making headlines. The media is going crazy and assuming things with his every movement inside the cell, so much so that when he asked for a change of cell, the press speculated that he was haunted by the ghosts of Ajmal Kasab since he was in the same cell where Kasab was kept before his execution.

Making his life a little bit easier, Dutt was shifted early in the morning on Wednesday from Mumbai jail to Pune’s Yerawada jail. Some other convicts of 96 Mumbai blasts are also in the same enclosure but in a different cell.

As was reported by, an official said, “Sanjay Dutt was escorted to Pune jail at about 4am from Mumbai. There were three police vans that took him to the Pune jail.” In order to escape the media, the actor was whisked away in the wee hours and is being kept in a cell at Maximum Security Enclosure where General Vaidya's killers Jinda and Sukha were lodged.

Dutt, who was convicted for keeping illegal arms at his house arrived at around 6:30am in Pune and would be assigned his jail responsibilities on Wednesday. Meeran Borwankar, Additional Director General confirmed the news about the shift. The 53-year-old actor surrendered before the TADA court on May 14.

The case has always been one of the more popular talking points in the actor's life than his professional work. Right from the start of his career, he was the prodigal son but it seems that he now wants to clear up his act and hence did not appeal against the court's decision. He has another 42 months to stay in jail.
