Sanskari Pahlaj Nihalani will now turn distributor for non-sanskari erotic film 'Julie 2'
Pahlaj Nihalani, ex-chief of the Central Board of Film Certification has always been surrounded by controversy. And yet again, after his unceremonious exit from the board, he returns back to the film industry with an erotic film Julie 2.

This time the ex-chief would be presenting the upcoming flick, the supposedly 'bold', 'beautiful' and blessed' sequel to the 2004 erotic thriller Julie titled Julie 2.

Director Deepak Shivdasani spoke to Mumbai Mirror, and said, "I started writing the script in 2012 and had discussed the idea with Pahlajji then. He loved it. He is family and after seeing it with his wife recently, he told me 'Yeh film ab meri hai,' and will be presenting it."

When asked about the inappropriate content in the film with regards to Nihalani's contentious attitude towards similar films, Deepak clarified, "It's a content-driven film and Pahlajji had no objections to any of the scenes."

Pahlaj Nihalani's austere attitude and rigid bigotry had created ripples in the film industry. Cuts and edits rampaged free spirits. However, during his career as a producer, he has been associated with films which had quite deplorable scenes and in no way could justify the 'sanskaari' take. Films like Aankhein and Andaz can never be glorified as taintless and flawless, if scrutinised with his version of cleanliness.

Nihalani was quoted by Mumbai Mirror as saying, "Julie 2 should be given an 'A' certificate without any cuts. There is no vulgarity, obscenity or even a language problem. This is a hot seat, you have to be careful with guidelines which are perfect and only the rating system we require."

He also said that the film would expose the realities of the industry without any sugar coating. "My family loved Julie 2, it's a bold thriller about how talented people come into the industry and then are forced to compromise. It's a good expose with a message for aspiring actors who come from across the county and don't get the right people or platform."

Julie 2 is all set to hit the silver screen on October 6. Raai Laxmi would be playing the lead role.
