Sargotsvam - world's 2nd biggest youth festival to be held in capital
Art and cultural activities will be part of Sargotsavam, organized by Jansanskriti, a socio-cultural organization of the people of Kerala residing in NCR. Claimed to be the world's second biggest youth festival, Jansanskriti is all set to promote national integration and communal harmony.

ON OCTOBER 7 and 14, Jansanskriti will be organizing Sargotsavam-2012 in Shiksha Bharti School, located in Dwarka, sector 7. Sargotsavam is a cultural festival of performing arts and literary competitions organized by Jansanskriti every year. The NCR level Sargotsavam is considered as the second biggest Youth Festival in the World, the first being 'School Youth Festival' of Kerala.

During the two-day event, more than 500 children from Dwarka and adjoining areas are expected to participate in these competitions in the presence of their parents and leading artists. Competition is held in more than 60 items of performing arts including Bharata Natyam, Mohiniyattam, folk dance, classical music, film songs, light music etc., along with painting, drawing and literary competitions.

Jansanskriti, apart from diverse cultural and literary activities, strives to promote national integration and communal harmony. It has been operational for the last several years and enjoys plenty of goodwill among the community. The other major programmes organised by Jansanskriti are Kalikalam, which is a personality development workshop for children, Safdar Hashmi Memorial Drama Festival considered as the biggest such event in India, Sahitya sayannam, Discussion desk and seminars to promote art and culture.

Painting, drawing and literary competitions will be held on October 7 and competitions in performing arts will be held on October 14.
