AAMIR KHAN'S first television show Satyamev Jayate is an initiative to transform the current trend on the idiot box, which reminds us of the days when Doordarshan used to (to a certain extent it still is on the same track) telecast burning issues so as to create mass awareness.

The show, though only two episodes' old so far, has raised burning issues like female foeticide and child sexual abuse. The show duration is only one hour but Aamir tries to make most of it and has successfully endeavored to cover almost all possible aspects. The courage and the spirit of the participants is also appreciable as they come out and share their bitter experiences and put themselves infront of the world as leaders and role models.

Contrary to other television shows in which the quiz/suggestion/survey SMSs cost 3 to 5 rupees, here the official sponsor Airtel has also shown its responsibility towards society and is costing just one rupee for each SMS.

It will be a cliché to state that Aamir has always presented himself as a responsible citizen of India and he differentiates himself from other Page 3 personalities.
