Satyamev Jayate triumphs again with alcoholism: Aamir planning for season 2
While normally no one listens to an hour long talk show on social issues but when Aamir Khan speaks, we all know what happens. While the latest episode was as usual a huge hit among people, Aamir Khan is planning for a second season of Satyamev Jayate.
SATYAMEV JAYATE and Aamir Khan
in its ninth episode took up another extremely prevalent and not talked about topic in India: alcoholism. There are numerous homes in India
where the father of the house is drunk at night and takes immense pleasure in beating up the mother or a brother, hardly out of his teens walking home reeking of alcohol. While most will say that they don't indulge or accept such behavior, inspite of that, the Indian scenario, as far as alcohol consumption is concerned, is changing. Aamir Khan's show not only outlined the symptoms but also came up with the fact that alcoholism is actually a disease and must be treated at the earliest possible.
What a doctor stated in the show, that goes out to most of the people who are social drinkers and feel that they can control, was of vital importance. He said that if a person's friend is saying that, "he/she drinks like a fish," among other things then warnings bells are going off around the person, and he must take care as his pleasure can become a habit.
With such issues, about which no one talks about in a platform, Aamir Khan was sure to win the hearts of the people and acknowledging the fact he said that his show has got a dream response. As reported in zeenews.com, he is planning a second season of the show. The first season has 13 episodes and true to his word, he has made people sit up and take notice. He further added, “So many things have happened which has made it difficult for our research team to actually find out the actual impact we have created.” The actor, who gained superstar stardom with his decision of making one movie a year and that too quality movie feels that the show has bought him closer to people of India.
While he is currently shooting for his upcoming film Dhoom 3, his research team is looking up the impact created by the show and getting fodder for their next season.
