Save river Ganga from pollution: Justice Rajendra Prasad
Justice Rajendra Prasad of Patna High Court during his inaugural address of 'Ganga Sankalp' as a chief guest of the Human Chain for the conservation of the river Mother Ganga near Srikrishna Memorial Hall in Patna recently, called for people to save the Ganga.
"THE HOLIEST river of the world the Ganga is vanishing from Patna due to environmental pollution. Life giving river Mother Ganga is now turning into a stinking sewage. It infects different kinds of diseases to the devotees. It’s our prime duty to save her from environmental pollution. Keep the river Ganga away from politics,” said Justice Rajendra Prasad.
“It’s not too late to start this mass awareness for saving the vanishing Mother Ganga. Let us unite to save her for the healthy and sustainable development of our state,” said Prem Kumar minister of Urban Development and Housing Department of Bihar in this programme.
This human chain programme was a part of the state level mass awareness programme of ‘Ganga Samagr’ for the Conservation of the river Mother Ganga in Bihar. Minister Prem Kumar, Justice Rajendra Prasad, BJP MLA Nitin Navin, active members of ‘Ganga Samagr’ - Madan Pandit, Umesh Sinha, Pramod Singh and students of local schools made a human chain by joining hands. Minister Prem Kumar read out the Ganga Sankalp Patra - 'Jai-Jai Gange, Har-Har Gange!' in Hindi with them. They also shouted religious slogans like –'Ganga Maiya ki Jai!' (All glories to the river Mother Ganga.)”
