Save the precious and talented Parsi community
One of India's most talented and precious indigenous communities, the Parsees, are experiencing a decline due to internal cultural issues. The government should ensure that this community thrives once again.
AN ONLINE petition has been signed by many people against the decision of Bombay Parsi Panchayat’s (BPP) to approach Supreme Court of India against Bombay High Court's decision involving banning of two Parsi community priests for their conducting the Navjote ceremonies for children of women married to non-Parsis.

The petition has also been signed against conducting marriages where one partner was a non-Parsi, and for conducting after-death prayers for Parsis who were cremated.

Earlier too such reforms initiated by some Parsi youth through the Association for Revival of Zoroastrianism (ARZ) by bringing non-Parsi family-members into the Zoroastrian fold, were resisted. But all these reforms are the need of the hour to prevent one of the world’s most talented Parsi community from disappearing completely.

Parsis are the only community in the world that's fast decreasing in number due to strict community restrictions.

Even the United Nations Organisation and the Indian government should take necessary steps to save this talented community from being totally finished. It is rather a necessity of the society to preserve genetic features of this great community.

Best thing about the community is that they live for the society rather than for themselves or for producing children. Parsis have topped every field of life - be it industry, sports, legal or any other field - with hardly any examples of corruption, favouritism or self-interest.

I completely agree with you. The trustess of the parsi panchayat are self serving and enriching themselves and their friends and families with cheap housing. Their own relatives are married to non-parsis for eg the american brother of one and the son of anotherr.
