This incident is our chance to raise voice against the encouraging a wave of brutal attacks on women across India. If we raise our voices in massive numbers to Assam police chief today, we can get all the girl’s attackers traced down and put behind bars and get a commitment for proper patrolling of all city streets by responsible police. It is again subject of concern that India’s wealth and prosperity is increasing manifold but recent survey shows that it has the worst status of women amongst all the G-20 nations.
One can see violence and sexual harassment cases are crossing all the boundaries of shamelessness. I am wondering why culprits and criminals are allowed to cover their faces and wear masks to hide their faces. By allowing hiding their faces, how other innocent women could be saved? When public cannot see their faces how these will be identified by public in future.
Again we are marching on blind foot prints of western culture. The word like sexy, which is marked by tending to arouse sexual desire/ interest, is being used by masses. Recently Mamta Sharma, chairperson of Women Commission was seen advocating to accept these words in true sense. Even she gave a statement asking women to dress decently and carefully. Another member of Women Commission Alka Lamba released name of the victim. How can responsible women officials of the commission do such silly acts, one just fails to understand.
