Schoolgirl commits suicide in Orrisa
A 9th standard schoolgirl belonging to a scheduled caste has reportedly committed suicide in Orrisa. She was one of the best students among the 601 girls, studying in Kanyashram High School of Padaguda.
THE MUTILATED body of the minor girl was found lying on a railway track near Gopanagar around 1000 meters away from Koraput Railway Station on last Friday. She was identified as Madhuri Hial, daughter of Sasipatra Hial of village Pendapadar of Dasmantpur block of Koraput district.
A total 601 students are enrolled in the school and Ms Hial stayed in the school hostel. She was last seen around 7am on Friday and had reportedly left the school without intimating the school authorities.
Later the school authorities were told that she has committed suicide by jumping in front of Jagadalpur-bound Hirakhand Express train. Ms Hial, who according to Panamani Murmu, the school headmistress was nominated as the prime minister of the school, was one of brightest students of the school. "Reasons behind her suicide are not known," headmistress told this citizen journalist .
