'Scientology - Abuse at the Top': Book review
With the split of Tom and Katie, once again, Scientology has come into limelight and has brought back the focus on the much acclaimed book, 'Scientology-Abuse at the Top' by former insider of the religion, Amy Scobee.

IN HER book, Amy Scobee reveals the nightmare world of violence and abuse in the Church of Scientology. The book describes in a biographical style the events and first hand experiences of manipulation, betrayal by the religion as well as the sexual and mental abuse faced by the author. The details of the human rights violations perpetrated by the top men of Scientology to the extent of holding disguised slave camps.

Basically, book is chronological recount of author's experiences related to her joining the Scientology organization, then becoming a top level staff member and finally her resentment and disillusion with its contradictions.

The author describes emotional experiences in her book, including an incident where she was raped at the age 14 by a Scientology supervisor and threatened of dire consequences if she reported it to the police. She also describes another traumatic experience at an age of 16 for being slapped for refusing to climb into a garbage can and clean it.

Her book has a fairly easy narrative and is a fun to read. The book explains certain terminology and glossary of the technical words along with some footnotes. The book very well reveals how even educated people fall victim to mind-controlling cults.

Amy Scobee, who left the Church of Scientology in 2005, was denounced as "The Adulteress" by the church's magazine Freedom. The book, chapter after chapter reveals the organizational insanity of Scientology as expereienced by Amy.

The book received a favorable reception from reviews and media coverage as a "tell-all book" about Scientology. The book is good read that exposes scientology as a mind-control cult rather than a true religion.

The concept of 'scientology' sounds like a straight way derivative from a Dan Brown novel.
