It was a rare initiative in which kids were taught how important it was to take care of their pets. In the pet show, organised on September 19, young kids of 1st standard learned and shared the important role pets play in our lives.
A WAVE of excitement was flowing in Scottish High International School on last Wednesday. Grade one students of the school were to attend an interesting event in which many pets like dogs were showed off in the assembly area. “Their wait was over when the announcement to gather in the assembly area was made and call them to witness the event. They all came out in the amphitheatre and saw many pets like fish, birds and dogs waiting for them. It was the day of ‘Scottish High Pet Show’,” informed a school press release.
Proud owners of these pets were very eager to show them off. One by one children as well as staff members came on stage and shared information about their pets. The kids found the information and anecdotes; like how they are taken care of, what they eat and their importance in the lives of us humans, interesting and fascinating. “Few dogs grabbed this opportunity to demonstrate their tricks which received thunderous applause from the audience. It was marvellous to note some of the intriguing names like Raisin, Cleo, Dude, Dazzle, Lilly-Willy, Tyson, Dollar etc.,” the press release added.
This event turned out to be an interesting way to enable children to comprehend how and why we should be empathetic and caring towards animals. They understood that animals play an important part in our lives and therefore, they should treat them responsibly, with love and sensitivity.
It was a memorable experience for all those who attended it and they left with a sense of realization of the importance of love and empathy towards animals.
