SECURITY SCREENING at a terminal on Los Angeles International Airport was halted for about half an hour on Wednesday morning by a security breach. According to the airport officials, a woman in a wheelchair had a bottle of liquid medication at a security screening area.
The problem began about 5:30 AM when a woman in a wheelchair was being screened by security at Terminal 6 and was pulled aside for a secondary screening because she had a bottle of liquid medication. The liquid was supposed to be scanned by a machine to determine that it wasn't dangerous. Screening at three terminals 5, 6, and 7 was halted for about 30 minutes while authorities attempted to locate the woman.
Marshall Lowe of Los Angeles World Airports said, The woman was being screened when she left the area briefly, leaving a bottle of medication behind. Security screening again started at 6 AM. According to the Airport official, there were no delays to flights or impact to operations.
