SC's verdict on same sex relationship is not in consonance with Hindu Sanatana Dharma
Sex is considered a god in Hindu sanatana dharma. It is called Kaam Devta (Cupid). It is not only considered essential for procreation but also for pleasure. Shiva Lingam is worshipped in Hindu sanatana Dharma.
Our temples at Khajuraho, Konark and Jagannath Puri display all types of sex including lesbian and gay sex as well as sex between animals, etc. It is not considered a sin so long it is between consenting partners and no force is being used to have the partner submit to it.
The poetry of Kalidasa who is called Shakespeare of India is full of erotic references. There is also a book devoted to sex which is called Kama Sutra. The institution of Deva Dasi which is dedicated to the temple for fulfilling the sexual needs of the visitors, is sanctioned by the Hindu Sanatana Dharma.
The transgenders are not hated, even some ceremonies are not complete without their presence and without making offerings to them. The Deva Dasis are also honoured and special offerings are made to them. In view of this, the Supreme Court's decision criminalising gay sex is not in consonance with Hindu Sanatana Dharma. Here it may also be mentioned that great works of art and literature as well as sculpture in India are erotic in nature.
