Two time academy Award winner Sean Penn has been charged for assaulting a photographer and damaging his camera. The incident occurred near Brentwood Country Mart in October 2009.

If he’s convicted, he can be imprisoned for 18 months. To make matters worse for Sean, the incident was broadcast online by the celebrity website TMZ. The charges have been filed in Los Angeles City Attorney’s office and Los Angeles Times quoted spokesman Frank Mateljan as saying “We are alleging he kicked a photographer and and we are also accusing him of breaking the photographer's camera."

Penn had a dubious distinction of clashing with the media, especially the paparazzi, in his younger days. In 1987, Penn was sent behind bars for 60 days for punching a guy in the sets of the drama ‘Colors’. All his fans are keeping their fingers crossed, since they don’t wants to see their favourite Hollywood star locked up behind bars once again.
