Sebastian Vettel favourite for British Grand Prix 2011
Sebastian Vettel has had a terrific run this year with victories in 6 out of the 8 races this season. The Red Bull driver seems to be the favourite to win the race at the Silverstone circuit.
BRITISH GRAND Prix, one of the most awaited races on the Formula One calendar,  is scheduled to start on July 10 at the Silverstone circuit. It is one of the oldest Grand Prix races. All eyes would be set on the best driver of the season, Sebastian Vettel, who drives for the Red Bull team. He has won a staggering 6 out of the 8 races that has taken place this season.
Other drivers in the fray are almost out of words in describing his achievement as he has been very consistent till date, this season. Comparisons have already been drawn with one of the great F1 drivers of the modern era, Michael Schumacher - who won the title consecutively from 2000 till 2004 along with many other seasons too, which is not an easy feat. But Vettel’s rivals such as Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button believe that he would not be able to dominate F1, as the German legend, Schumacher did it for so many years. Vettel is on the lookout for a second consecutive title after he won it last season too.
Some other major contenders for the race, such as Felipe Massa and Jenson Button, etc., have been in the news recently. Felipe Massa will be under pressure to perform during the British Grand Prix as his future over his current employers, Ferrari seems to be under scrutiny. On the other hand Jenson Button was involved in the jet-skiing accident recently which put him in doubt for the British Grand Prix.
But, both these players would be participating in the race, and look to provide a tough competetion to Vettel, who is on his own league this season.
Sebastian Vettel is way ahead of the drivers pack with 186 points in his kitty. Jenson Button, who ranks second in the Drivers championship, is 77 points behind Vettel. Drivers such as Button and Mark Webber should win most of the races from here on, if they are to pose any serious challenge to Vettel, who is running away with the title half way during the season.
