EVEN THOUGH growth increases the defense mechanism and is a hedge against the eruption of unknown events, but still the conflicts are increasing. The real reason may have to do with the omnipresent consciousness and its interplay with literacy and opinion. The first stage of illiteracy is over; almost all humans can read and write at least one language if there is sufficient infrastructure and opportunities available to them. But with the expansion of markets there is growing second stage of illiteracy spreading through mobile and internet; make believe theories based on bloated nationalism.
Indians may strongly believe in the eternity of path of dharma leading to secular convergence based on the partial acceptance of heterodoxy. Its’ elites may strongly follow sexual atheism. In India, there are always proponents of a ‘new’ Testament. Russians may extensively believe in the sufficiency of their White Orthodoxy combined with military prowess to be a global power. They can strongly believe in the principle that cultural dissimilarity is a reply to containment and they don’t have to learn sex like Americans.
As far as global Islam is concerned it would be on the path of constant revolution, the jihad, as dictated by the Final Testament. The Islamic world would believe in the prophesied redeemer, the Mahdi. But Arab uprisings remind everyone that changes are inevitable though the revolutions from Western point of view are more likely to be turn out to be counterrevolutions. It would be very difficult for Islam to follow another path. China strongly believes that atheism can be effectively sustained by economic-atheism. The economic empowerment and competitiveness with global powers take away larger demands of democracy and human rights. If Chinese people could learn sex like Americans, then they could pose threat to Chinese state.
The UK could rely on constitutional monarchism, which British believe can contain both Republicanism and communism simultaneously. The UK can also believe that its future lies more with the US as a pole in Anglo-Saxon axis, than with the Europe. France, Germany and Italy can believe that non-Anglican White interests can be sustained on the line of Anglican beliefs and interests and as their corollary. Pakistan’s hyperlearning is very acute and it revolves around the belief that investing in radicalization helps it gain and contain India. Africa requires learning; it needs to learn class and race arguments amongst Blacks and probably a new local theory.
The effect of the hyperlearning and unlearning is that people would reinterpret past from present theories showing poor analytical skill in general. The situation is most complicated in the South Asia. Pakistan may start remembering all that India did to it; Kashmir, Hyderabad, Junagadh, the birth of Bangladesh, and start interpreting these acts as acts of aggression of Hindu India against Islam and its civilization and not as acts of secular India to further its interests. China can believe in demeaned India only because of bloated nationalism and false beliefs in G2 and also because of its interpretation that pluralism and liberalism in India are the compulsions of its people and the state instead of they being ideological convictions. In addition, the competition between India and China to convert their derivative powers to primary powers could as well be the contributing reason for future Sino-Indian conflict.
Conflicts permeate all three stages of human brain: unconscious, preconscious and unconscious. Since the consciousness is around 2000-3000 years old and the most of the religions are also that old and since the expansions of the religions invariably involved conflicts, therefore, humans on earth have not fully reconciled to the idea of consciousness: a scaled, normalized and rationalized understanding of self and of both near and far space-time and people. In fact the consciousness of humans has been exploited in the sense that origins of religions may have external hands. The fact that many nation-states are formed on the basis of religion and religion is still the most important thing for the vast majority of people on earth complicate the things further.
The most important fact is that Anthropocene is largely dominated by White world and the modern part of it is hugely dominated by the West. The growth, therefore, is asymmetric and unequal. But the produces of the West instill the idea of equality. The rest, including India and China, is largely unequal internally, but it seeks equality with the West. This makes field open for predatory policies; both by the West and by the Rest. The West would always support the policy of ‘above us equal’ and ‘below us dictated by the laws of markets and bazaars’ in order to promote oligarchy and elitism. The one reply to deny academic demands of equality is to manage inflation and follow a particular immigration policy.
It is not that inflation and second stage of illiteracy plague only the Rest. The West is also affected by this as seen in the belief among many Westerners that the West is a decaying civilization and also belief among many Americans that there is something called post American world. What has the West done so that it decays: it has only invested hugely in the non-West. Any investment is based on the premise of profitability. The West invests, the Rest benefits, the center of gravity of power structure changes to the Rest, the West invests more and the process continues. This appears incomprehensible to rational mind. By simple consumption and becoming second producers the power does not shift to the Rest. The copyright laws make it more difficult. The power shifts to that center which has the ability to innovate technology and products. This power rests with the West, particularly, with the US and the increased immigration of talented people from the non-West to the West is proof of that. But the West would support both the theories of hyperlearning and unlearning to further its economic interests and to accommodate newly founded high consciousness because of its investment and because of the time.
The world needs to rescale non-economic inflation and non-economic returns. There is not much point in converting people. Freedom, democracy, human rights and capitalism should be left open to the choice of the people of the non-West. Only thing is consumerism should be supported and along with it the majorities worldwide should be supported without hurting minorities. There is nothing wrong in big becoming bigger, what is wrong is small becoming smaller. The world should produce better nationals but it requires huge wealth generation in more symmetric and more equal way and that is possible only with pursuing capitalist model of economy. But then there is a big constraint of evolution: asymmetry and inequality may make world grow with stability. May be inequality and asymmetry is the inherent and intrinsic laws of humans’ evolution on earth. May be humans are biologically and psychologically like that. Then going against this trend may be dangerous to the longevity of human race.
