Security beefed up in Gurgaon for Independence Day
In terms of development, Gurgaon is considered to be growing at the rate of knots. But, it is not only development, the crime rate have also shot up. Keeping this in view and with the Independence Day around, the administration have already started to tighten security in Gurgaon a few days ago.
Badan Singh Rana, DCP, Headquarters, Gurgaon said, "The Police Patrolling have already started. There are a number of people, who are not from Gurgaon, and are hence, staying in hotels, so keeping the gravity of this occasion, Inactive personnel (Judges Gunmen), who are not the part of our day to day routine has also been deployed this time. We have posted 1000 police force at public places in the city."

He also further added that underage drivers and drunken drivers are being fined challans on daily basis for the last two to three days. They are educating them to maintain law and order by following the traffic rules.

Sangeeta Rani, DCP (West) said, "To maintain law and order on this occasion, all our security arrangements have been completed. Security has been increased in hotels, railway stations etc."

Special security arrangements have been made by the district administration in Gurgaon to make people feel safe.  According to the Police Control Room, police personnel have been stationed in huge numbers near temples, mosques, schools and colleges. Apart from this, CCTV cameras have been installed at crowded areas to have a close watch on the undesired activities in the city.

IFFCO Chowk, Shankar Chowk, Rajiv Chowk and Hero Honda Chowk are considered to be traffic prone areas of Gurgaon. To avoid traffic chaos, special protection has been enhanced at the above main chowks. Administration has also increased the number of home guards for traffic arrangements. Almost 65 Motor Rider PCRs and 55 Van PCRs have been engaged in different parts of the city. For women's safety, Women cells and PCRs have been active in three zones.
