Security forces have arrested three Maoists after raiding their hideout at Narayanpatna on Wednesday last, as rebels were taking part in a meeting there, organised by CPI Maoists.
THE TOP Maoist leaders Daya and Aruna along with Nachika Linga of Chasi Mulia Adibasi Sangh (CMAS), who were present at the meeting managed to escape. The arrested Maoists that include two women rebels, hailing from Narayanpatna block of Koraput district were Uje Sirika, Rolini Mandangi and Sunita Praska.
Police also seized musical instruments of Jana Natya Mandali from the spot. Sunita had been an active Naxal cadre for the last 7 years and carried cash reward on her head, the D.I.G. Debadath Singh said. Her duty was to recruit new members through Jana Natya Mandali and spread 'propaganda of the Naxalite ideology'.
Daya, Aruna and Nachika Linga had allegedly assigned her the task for recruiting fresh cadres from Narayanpatna area during the continuing People's Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) week that started from December 2.
