The security in Metro stations is just for the sake of showing people that they are performing their duty. However, in reality, these officials often allow people to board the Metro without even bothering to check their bags.
AFTER WATCHING a sting operation on Delhi Metro telecast by a national news channel and conducted by four boys, I decided to speak something about the issue.
The security on Metro stations in Delhi is just for the sake of showing people that they are performing their duty, but the reality is something else. Every morning when I come to Shahdara Metro station to attend my college, the security officials over there do not check my bag properly and just touch it for the sake of checking. It seems that they are present there physically but not mentally. Inside the Metro trains they have labelled some seats as reserved for ladies, physically challenged and senior citizens but sadly there’s no one to check whether it is being followed by the people or not.
The question is when our country suffers from crime, all that these officials do is catch criminals but they themselves don’t know that they too indulge in criminal activities. As shown in the sting operation...those boys carried their guns inside the Metro because of poor security.
So as a responsible citizen and as an aspiring future journalist, I consider it to be my moral duty to post my views.
