Senior citizens have become more active after joining Day Care Center
A few months back a responsible and leading social group in Indore opened the group's second Day Care Center at 137, Sarva Sampanna Nagar, Kanadia road, Indore. The center, like its first center at 148-B, Mahadev Totla Nagar, Indore, was started to provide creative facilities to senior citizens of the area, and has successfully helped senior citizens to be more active.

THE DAY care center has computers, internet connection, library, games, and recreation facilities. The senior citizens of the vicinity have responded equally positively, and have started coming to the center to involve themselves in the center’s activities.

“If a person after retirement does not make himself busy in some activities, then possibility of diseases, loneliness, etc., can't be avoided. When I came here and understood the purpose of opening of the center, I was impressed and resultantly I became a regular member of the center. Now not only I, but other members of the center also feel fresh and more energetic,” said Mr. Rege, a senior citizen member of the day care centre.

The center is being visited by experts in different fields, from time to time, such as health solution provider, writers, and musicians, etc. It was  recently visited by representatives of Ranbaxy Laboratories, the leading medicine manufacturers of the country to explain the importance of calcium and other vitamins in old age. The senior citizens heard him patiently and noted the tips provided on the subject.

Atul Malikram, the founder of the center is happy to see changes in lifestyles of senior citizens, and said, "I am very happy to see that all the veterans coming here have shown curiosity in learning new subjects of the modern age, and we at the day care centre try to provide maximum facilities to them. We have been successful in our endeavors till now, and are confident to continue with the same spirit in future also.” The Day Care Centers' future projects include opening of two more senior citizens Day Care Centers, and Old Age Homes-Aasraa, and a physiotherapy center.
