Sensex touches 15550 mark, continues to rise
Registering a constant rise in the morning trade, Sensex on Wednesday reached the mark of 15500. The market continued to grown even further. On Tuesday the Sensex had closed at 15,127, after trading between 15,159 and 15,159
THE BOMBAY Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex on Wednesday (June 10) reached the mark of 15500 in early trade and continued to grow even further. The market had closed at 15,127, after trading between 15,159 and 15,159 on Tuesday.


The market is showing the maximum rise since UPA's win at the Centre. On Tuesday, the market had a phenomenal rise of 460 points. According to reports, Dr Manmohan Singh's remarks on economic growth sparked an immediate, hectic buying interest which saw the Sensex surging by 461.08 points or 3.14 per cent to close at 15127.


Manmohan Singh on Tuesday noted that India's current economic growth rate, at seven per cent, is not good enough and also said that UPA government is striving for nine per cent growth rate.


Companies that saw an upward trend in morning trade on Wednesday were Tech Mahindra Ltd, Videocon Industries, Piramal Healthcare L, Reliance Infrastruct etc.
