The sensational and stylish Serena who was discussed for her apparels as well as the great ability to thrash her opponent has had a surgery on the injured foot. She will miss events in Istanbul, Cincinnati and Montreal.

WORLD NO. 1 female tennis player Serena Williams will be missing three WTA events before the US Open 2010 as she has injured her right leg.

The no. 1 player cut her right ankle as she stepped on broken glass at a restaurant last week. The tennis star has already claimed Australian Open 2010 and the Wimbledon this year.

She is a hot favourite to win the US Open 2010 given her form as well as the home crowd support. After being ousted at the French Open this year Serena recovered to claim the Championships as her Slam no. 2 for this year.
Serena will be vying to grab the US Open 2010 title at the Flushing Meadows which starts on August 30 this year.

Her fans across the world are worried and are praying for her recovery soon. WTA stated that the injury was not of grave concern rather a minor one and that Serena Williams will recover in time to play the US Open in front of her home crowd.
