Serena Williams wins Rogers Cup
Serena Williams has defeated an Australian Tennis player, Samantha Stosur in the finals of the Rogers Cup 2011. The score read 6-4 6-2 to lift aloft the trophy, where the match lasted for 77 minutes only.

SERENA WILLIAMS has been in good form after she has come back from her ankle injury into to the WTA circuit. She has won the Rogers Cup tournament, where she defeated an Australian Tennis player, Samantha Stosur during the finals at Toronto. Serena looked in great touch as she won the match in an easy manner, as the score read 6-4 6-2 to lift aloft the trophy. The match lasted for 77 minutes.
It was her second Rogers Cup title as she had previously won the tournament some 10 years ago in 2001. The first set of the match witnessed some tough competition between these players, as they tried to outdo one another a great deal, but Serena got the better of the Australian in the first set. The second set saw a better display of Tennis from Serena as she wrapped up the set in quick time and dominated the set too.
Serena must be happy with her performance after she has come back from her injury. She also managed to win the Bank of the West Classic tournament around two weeks back. Her two titles, ahead of the US open, which is scheduled to start later during the month could be a great confidence booster for the American Tennis star, who would be cheered by her fans. It could be a great gift for her if she wins the US Open too.
