Setback to Hooda as Punjab and Haryana High Court cancels some land acquisitions made by Haryana government
Addressing Shakti rally in Gohana town of Haryana, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has claimed that his land acquisition policy was best in the country that was appreciated even by the Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi.

This citizen journalist's comments on a TV channel challenging the claims made by the CM had provoked the authorities to such an extent that the telecast of TV channel was discontinued using illegal means.

Now the Punjab and Haryana High Court has quashed the order under which land was acquired from farmers of Rohtak, home town and constituency of Hooda for public purpose and latter released to developer. The million dollar question that is being asked in political and administrative circles is that will the CM resign now while owning the moral responsibility and tender unconditional apology to the farmers whose lands Haryana Govt. had acquired misusing the provisions of Land Acquisition Act.

Earlier at the instance of Hooda, Rohtak police has booked Ramesh Dalal who had contested elections against Hooda on the charges of attacking on duty government servants. The only fault of Dalal was that he had opposed the acquisition of land from farmers in Rohtak by the Haryana Govt.

However, Dalal's anticipatory bail application had been accepted by the Rohtak's Additional Sessions court. The court said that right to liberty under section 21 of the constitution is a valuable right and hence should not be lightly inferred with. Police has registered cases against Dalal under sections148, 149, 332 and 353 of penal code for leading a mob carrying sticks and stones and attacking officers on duty.

Notably the Hooda Govt. has treated the agitators demanding reservation in jobs with kid gloves when they had blocked the highway but had registered cases, resorted to lathicharge and teargas attack when they were peacefully protesting against the land acquisition in Rohtak.

A division bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court headed by Justice Suryakant has passed the orders while deciding on a bunch of petitions filed by one Sant Singh and others setting aside the land acquisition proceedings. The state Govt. has issued change in land use in the favour of builder who was planning mega housing project.

The land acquisition and change of land use policy of Hooda Govt. is making headlines with accusations that Hooda is favoring colonizers. Rebel Congress MP Rao Inderjit Singh has demanded probe against change in land usage granted by Hooda. Land deals between Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and realty giant DLF were canceled by whistle blower Haryana cadre IAS officer Ashok Khemka.

It is interesting to mention here that few years back, at a function held in Rohtak which was meant for collecting donations for a Engineering College in the memory of Maturam, grandfather of Bhupinder Hooda, representative of DLF has given donation of Rs. 2 Crores.

Poople of Rohtak are lamenting that although they had elected Hooda thrice to Lok Sabha annoying Devilal but the CM has not spared even them with no new sectors of Haryana Urban Development Authority coming in Rohtak.
Recently when the plot holders had organised protests against high-handedness of colonizer, the administration instead of taking action against the colonizer had arranged a meeting between them and colonizer in the office of Rohtak's Deputy Commissioner.

To convey their greetings on the birthday of Bhupinder Hooda on 15th September, Gurgaon based colonizers had issued full page advertisements in newspapers. The colonizers had urged Hooda to use his influence in amending certain provisions of proposed Land Acquisition Act, brainchild of Rahul Gandhi, as this Act will make land acquisition difficult.
