Seven-day workshop on micro-learning commences in Jaipur
A seven-day workshop on producing a training module on micro-learning strategy commenced at the Centre for Unfolding Learning Potentials in Jaipur from December 28. The module is being produced for training of teachers working small tribal schools in Rajasthan called Maa-Bari Centres.

Micro-learning organises curriculum in daily learning episodes stated precisely and specifically linked with appropriate instructional aids and cognitively-oriented worksheets, said the key resource trainer.

Often up to grade level three, the prescribed curriculum is written in the form of daily learning episodes ranging from 100-150 SMART objective statements, each to be accomplished in a class session of 40 minutes to one hour.

The worksheets completed by students have exercises that engage students cognitively with immediate reinforcement and learning support. This helps students to consolidate their learning on a daily basis.

The training module will exemplar material for Hindi, English and Arithmetic and a training strategy consisting of trainer demonstration of learning episodes followed by development of learning material by the participating teachers and capping up by the trainer.

"It is for the first time that the micro-learning strategy is being seriously attempted for early primary grades in small schools in multi-age setting with thirty students studying in grades one, two and three along with a group of children being prepared for school readiness," informed the key resource trainer.
