AT LEAST fourteen people are feared to have been killed and several injured in a suicide blast Pakistan's North West Frontier Province on Monday morning. As per reports, a suicide bomber reportedly rammed his explosive-laden vehicle in the rear wall of the Lakki Marwat police station . At the time of incident, more than 45 people were present inside the police station.
As the police station is located in the busy market area several civilians were killed in the explosion. A school building and some government offices too suffered severe damages due to the impact of the blast.A police official said that they will be able to assess the damage completely only after the debris are removed. Police confirmed eight deaths and stated that several others have been injured seriously.
Security has been tightened in the area as security forces cordoned off the entire area. The injured have been shifted to city hospital nearby, whose northern wing too was completely damaged because of the impact of the blast.The fresh attacks come only few days after more than 100 people lost their lives in bomb attacks was carried out on a Shiite procession in the cities of Lahore and Quetta last week. An attack in the same fashion had previously killed at least 100 people in a village adjacent to Lakki Marwat.
