Sex determination Chinese kits are being sold illegally in Haryana
In a major crackdown Haryana's Food and Drug Administration and Gurgaon police have arrested two persons who were illegally selling portable sex determination test machines. These machines were legally imported from China but illegally being sold across the country specially in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi, for conducting sex determination tests.

Chison marked machines were being sold in India through its India agent namely, Sinofam India Pvt. Ltd. The company having its headquarters in Saket in Delhi was having its godown in Gurgaon's Manesar.

Director of National Rural Health Mission Rakesh Gupta and Alok Mittal, Gurgaon Police Commissioner Police Alok Mittal has said that interrogation of accused has revealed startling facts that they were selling machines illegally to unscrupulous elements Documents of import of as  many as sixty nine such portable machines have been recovered.

On a tip from the sources, joint team of FDA and Gurgaon Police sent a decoy customer and arrested Satnam Bains, Indian representative of Chinese company and Gautam red handed while they were selling one portable machine at Rs. One lakh and twenty five thousands. Money was also recovered from their possession.

Haryana Govt has written to Chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes to check whether other such firms are operating in the country. Since racket involves Chinese nationals, Chinese Embassy has also been informed. Rakesh Gupta told that although import of machines is legal but the firm is supposed to maintain record of whom it has sold the machines.

Moreover they are supposed to get affidavit from the buyer that machines will not be used for illegally determining sex of fetus. Moreover after every three months they are supposed to inform competent authority giving details of all the transactions.

Alok Mittal told that violation of this is criminal offence. Mittal said that indiscriminating material has been recovered from the Saket office of the Company. So far they have got information about import of sixty nine machines but possibility of large scale sale of machines across the country is not ruled out.

Selling machines without  bill is serious offence. Rakesh Gupta said that they got tip
of this massive racket from a quack of Bhawanikheda in Bhiwani district where a decoy customer was sent and portable machine was seized. He had purchased Shenzen brand Chinese machine from Rajkumar of Kaithal who had purchased it from Hitesh Bhatia of Delhi.

Gupta said that FDA put its officers led by M.M. Taneja for gathering more information and they in true Mumbai films' style gathered enough information which led to busting of racket. Shockingly even colored doppler machines having 3D and 4D dimensions were also recovered.

Gupta said that raids were going on across the state and cases have been registered at Ambala today. They are examining registered ultrasound centres also. A machine was recovered from Jind district in Haryana through modus operandi of sending decoy customer.
