After a month of football extravaganza, FIFA World Cup 2014 will conclude on 13 July with the closing ceremony at 10:50pm IST. The final match between Argentina and Germany will be played at the Estadio do Maracana, Rio de Janeiro, which is the biggest stadium in Brazil.
Spanish footballer, Carles Puyol, is slated to unveil the FIFA World Cup trophy alongside Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen before the finals.
Due to a lukewarm response to opening ceremony and its theme song, FIFA has roped in Shakira to perform at the closing ceremony with the song "La La La (Brazil 2014)" along with Brazilian artist Carlinhos Brown. Besides Shakira, Carlos Santana and Wyclef Jean will also perform live. Furthermore, Brazilian superstar Ivete Sangalo will perform a medley of songs with Alexander Pires, stated FIFA organizers.
It may be recalled that Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" performance at the 2006 FIFA opening ceremony in Berlin and 2010 World Cup official theme song "Waka Waka" in South Africa had enthralled the audience. Further, Shakira's song "La La La (Brazil 2014)" is more popular than the official song "We Are One" by Pitbull Feat, Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte.
