Shaun White did not perform the trick in his first run. It was not needed as he wanted to take the pressure off his team mates. His score was quite enough to place him at the top. However during his second run, he did not disappoint his fans and performed the double McTwist 1260.

The American put up a superb 30 second show which earned him the gold medal. It was a proud moment for Team USA in the Men’s halfpipe snowboard event with Shaun White walking away with the gold medal.

Earlier, American skier Lindsey Vonn and Skater Shani Davis had also won gold medals for USA with their brilliant performances, taking USA on the top of the medals table.
