Actor Shiney Ahuja's bail plea was rejected by a Mumbai Sessions court today. The rejection of bail application could possibly be due to the fact that the DNA report of the actor had confirmed rape
ACTOR SHINEY AHUJA will continue to stay in jail as his bail plea was rejected by a Mumbai Sessions court on Wednesday (July 8). His lawyers had pleaded for bail terming the accusations against Ahuja as concocted.
Earlier, the court had extended the judicial custody of Ahuja till July 16. The rejection of bail application could possibly be due to the fact that the DNA report of the actor had confirmed rape.
The actor, however, has repeatedly denied raping his maid and said that he had consensual sex with the maid.
Shiney's lawyer had claimed that the story put forward by the rape victim was doubtful and concocted. He said that the rape victim could have run away from the room or offered more resistance, which did not happen actually.
The prosecution opposed the bail plea of the actor saying that he was an influential person, who could tamper with evidence and even influence the victim.
It also cited the forensic and DNA reports, which put the actor in the dock.
The victim's story of the alleged rape seems highly doubtful and concocted...If she had resisted, then the actor would have had more injuries on his body. But Ahuja has only two scratches on his hand," his lawyer Shrikant Shivade said.
According to him, there was ample opportunity for the girl to run away from the room or she could have kicked him or even scratched his face.
