Shivpal expels minister close to Akhilesh Yadav amid claims that all is well in Samajwadi Party
Samajwadi Party's UP unit chief, Shivpal Singh Yadav has expelled a minister from the party for six years, who is a close aide of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav. The minister Tej Narain Pandey alias Pawan Pandey had allegedly slapped party MLC Ashu Malik at the residence of Akhilesh Yadav.

Shivpal, after expelling Pandey from the party, also asked the chief minister to sack him from his cabinet. The UP SP chief said that indiscipline in the party won't be tolerated at any cost.

The latest development in the Samajwadi Party has taken place just a day after Mulayam Singh's claims that all is well in the party and Yadav family.

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow on Monday at the party headquarter, Shivpal Singh Yadav reportedly said, "Pawan Pandey is being expelled from the Samajwadi Party for six years on charges of indiscipline."

Meanwhile, Shivpal also emphasised that all was well in the party and there was no dispute in the Mulayam Singh Yadav family.

MLC Ashu Malik had alleged that on Monday he had been summoned at the residence of CM Akhilesh Yadav to give clarification regarding a media report in which Akhilesh was referred to as Aurangzeb and SP chief Mulayam Singh as Shahjahan.

Malik said that when he reached CM's residence, Pandey was already there. He accused Pandey of slapping him twice. Malik also clarified that at the time of the incident CM Akhilesh Yadav was not present at his residence. Malik has also lodged a complaint against Pandey. But the police has not registered any formal FIR so far.

However, Pandey has denied allegations by Malik and claimed that it was Malik who had beaten him during the Monday's party meeting.
