Should BJP project Narendra Modi as the next Prime Minister?
Who can become a good Prime Minister of the country - Narendra Modi or Rahul Gandhi? One has proved himself as good administrator, and a man who works for development, and the other has yet to prove himself. One is isolated by leaders because of his communal image and the other is lovable by leaders and loyalists. One common aspect between them is that they are both are unmarried.

NOW WITHIN the country the discussion about the next Prime Minister has started. It is a very common topic of discussion at public forums - who will be the next PM - Rahul Gandhi or Narendra Modi? However, neither Congress-led UPA nor BJP-led NDA has projected their Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 general elections. Between these two choices for the next PM candidate, Rahul Gandhi is likely to be supported by everyone within the Congress and UPA, but for Narendra Modi the road is not easy as he is often perceived with the tinge of a "communal leader" after the 2002 Godhra riots.

Rahul Gandhi, who is young, ambitious and undoubtedly leader of masses, has no charisma, He can go to the crowds and mix with them, take lunch or dinner in a hut of poor (during election time), can address people with high energy, can be a brand ambassador of urban India as well as rural young politicians, but he is not the person who can snatch victory for his party, which is in big trouble due to its performance.

In the recently concluded Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, he was the star campaigner of his party, Congress. During election time he worked almost for 24x7, visited every part of the state, addressed hundreds of rallies, rubbed shoulders of poor, elderly, verbally attacked other parties and promised better governance, a crime-free state and development. But what happened? His party failed to perform under his banner. However, some Congress leaders showed their loyalty towards Rahul Gandhi and took blame on themselves. But Rahul can't escape from his failure in the state.

If I talk about "communal" Narendra Modi, I never find him as communal. The media, the so-called secular leaders of the country, have been blaming Narendra Modi since the last 10 years continuously, but forgot to describe his work in the state. He says, I do for Gujaratis, never say I do for such or such religion. Development can be seen in every part of Gujarat. In his state all the infrastructure is growing rapidly. Many big names in Indian and world industry have invested in the state. I think no one can blame Narendra Modi that he has not done enough for the development of his state Gujarat.

If Narendra Modi is communal than how is that he won assembly elections in the state with a huge margin. In 2007 assembly elections, BJP won 117 seats in a 182-member assembly. In the 2004 Parliamentary elections, BJP won 14 seats, whereas in 2009 general elections, BJP won 15 seats. No one can blame himi for any unfair means in elections in the state because Election Commission of India do their work with honesty and always keep an eye on each polling booth. It is not possible to win with a huge margin without the support of the minorities in a state. Many Muslims support Narendra Modi for his development work.

I read an article that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said NDA must select its candidate for PM. Nitish Kumar's party JD(U) is one of the most important allies of NDA. Nitish Kumar also said without naming Narendra Modi, that Modi will not be acceptable by NDA. But, time has now come that BJP should re-think and propose the name of Narendra Modi as the next Prime Ministerial candidate from NDA instead of opposing it. He should get chance based on this track record for development in his state.

If Indian voters cast their important vote in the name of Narendra Modi then there would not be any doubt to elect him as the Prime Minister otherwise he is already isolated by the Indian secular leaders. If Indian voters have no issues with Narendra Modi, then why our so-called secular leaders are opposing Modi? In that case either voters will be assumed communal or should we understand that voters are not aware of Narendra Modi's image as portrayed by the media and politicians?

Having a strong point is not bad, in fact that is what is needed at the moment. Look at Manmohan Singh - a well educated personality translated into a puppet by the manipulative allies. Narendra Modi always fights for what he believes - its not gimmiky and mindless like Raj Thakrey but with proper logic, belief, and conviction. He may be wrong at times - all humans are.. but then at the moment the country needs a leader can do something (even if it turns out to be wrong at times ). Silence is hitting us much more.

Let us first ask will BJP support Modi? Look at their infighting.... Rahul is better off in that sense. At least he has his party members' support.

Will Modi be able to handle a coalition govt? He gets a free hand in Gujrat. In Centre he needs to please his allies which will include the likes of Mamata, Nitish etc. Will he be able to do that?

Rahul still needs to prove himself. Remember how he lost in UP? I will love to see a young blood in the prime minister's chair... but somehow Rahul doesnt seem to be ready.

I believe Narendra Modi will make a good CEO Prime Minister in India. Look at what he has done to Gujrat. If he does 5 percent of that in India, we will be shining.
