Shri Arun Jaitley's visit to 'God's Own Country'
After completing a political commentary once, I feel as if it would be for the last time. No more politics with pen and I make a pledge to go back and ride my old hobby – to write short stories of human interest.

Unfortunately, before I begin to imagine a new plot, a real story breaks in the arena of politics. I break again and again my pledge. Recently, when a RSS worker in Kerala was killed, I felt as if a shingle of sanity broke up and slipped from the roof of democracy; it fell on my head. Killing is inexcusable, unwarranted, abhorrent and unforgivable. Law must take its own course and the killer must be brought to book ASAP. And it should be applicable to every such incident.

But the vicious circle doesn't stop here. Every such incident is followed by the political pilgrimages to the victim's abode to make a show of sympathy, concern and political correction. It suits to their agenda and benefits the 'garnering process for' votes in the next election as well. In the early days after independence, public knew that their leaders were sincere and their visits were genuine. They no longer believe their tricks now. You can observe new leaders staring out of their aeroplane windows as floods engulf the large swaths down while enjoying popcorn and cold drink as if on an excursion.

So, I wasn't fascinated when Rahul stormed the affected area or Shri Arun Jaitely visited the family members of RSS worker Rajesh Edavakode who was killed allegedly by CPI(M) workers in Thiruvananthapuram. Every one knows it was tableau of selective sympathy. He never bothered to visit so many other places where the tragedies have struck in past. On record, 729 murders and '803 rapes' have taken place in just two months since Yogi ji came to power UP but the tamed media also failed to create any outcry! Nobody is bothered to take notice about these failing states of UP, Haryana and MP; not to mention Kashmir and Bihar.

I've to cut short my comments as I'm literally moved by a letter written by a politician to Shri Arun Jaitly after his Kerala visit.

It is an ongoing story......... of Achche Din!

I know it is a cry in the wilderness. These are not normal times!
