SHRI RAM Sena has expressed its concern over the dilapidated road from Nomain to Katra. State president Rajiv Mahajan said that during his recent visit to Katra, he noticed that the condition of road stretch from Nomain to Katra is in worst condition. After an inquiry from the locals, Mahajan came to know that this 4.5 km stretch of road from Nomain to Katra has not been black topped for the last two years. Mahajan is astonished to know how the state government has neglected the most important and prestigious road of the Jammu and Kashmir state which is visited by crores of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims every year and is a great contributor to the economy of the state.
Mahajan said that tourism industry is considered as the backbone of state economy, so tourists should not get bad impression of the state because of such conditions. Moreover it is obligatory on part of state government to provide all facilities like safety, lodging and comfortable journey to the visitors here.
Mahajan urged the state government to immediately repair the damaged stretch of road from Nomain to Katra without any loss of time and make special arrangements for maintenance of Jammu-Katra road.
Meanwhile, Mahajan appealed to SMVDSB authorities that they should also take notice of such like problems and get the maintenance done on their own and stop funds and loans to state government.
