Reiterating its demand for a separate state, Shri Ram Sena Jammu and Kashmir state president Rajiv Mahajan exhorted upon the NDA led central government if it wants to see peace in Jammu and Kashmir region it must declare Jammu division and Kashmir division two separate states and Ladakh as a Union territory.
He said until and unless Jammu and Kashmir is not divided, militancy can't be curbed effectively here. Mahajan said that all exercises of previous UPA government at centre like central leaders' talks with Kashmir valley representatives, special packages for Kashmiris and even interlocutors' initiatives have proved futile exercises. It was because separatists' writ runs large than any others in valley.
Moreover they (separatists) have learned the tactics of looting central and state government by raising anti-India issues and the central as well as state government succumbing under their pressure takes no stern action against their treason activities. Mahajan said and added that the people of Jammu region are unnecessarily forced to bear adversity on all fronts because of appeasing policy of central and state government towards divisive forces in Kashmir. Central and state government are appeasing Kashmiris at the cost of people in Jammu and Ladakh regions.
So it is advisable to create Jammu as a separate state and Ladakh as Union territory for uniform development and peace in the region. Mahajan said that NDA led central government is well aware about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP MPs from Jammu are quite familiar with the sufferings of Jammu people at the hands of Kashmiri rulers. Mahajan appealed the Jammu based MPs, Dr. Jatinder Singh and Jugal Kishore Sharma to raise the issue of separate Jammu state for betterment of people of Jammu division.
