Hailing the Supreme Court judgement, Shri Ram Sena has said that the honourable court has observed the serious lapses enroute Shri Amarnath Yatra, due to which several pilgrims lost their lives previous year.
SHRI RAM Sena state president Rajiv Mahajan said that the government should start working immediately, before commencing the yatra in the next year, to ensure the pilgrims’ basic facilities and smooth passage along the yatra track from Panjtarni to holy cave.
According to Court orders, he said: “The government has been directed to place pre-fabricated tiles enroute Yatra, and thereby to avoid slip of pilgrims, erect iron chains and retaining cemented walls along at the brink of both sides of the road, so that further casualties are avoided.”
He has demanded from the government to implement the same and devise the plan without any delay.
Pertinent to mention, environmentalists have been calling for decreasing in the number of pilgrims to the holy cave, in view of the fragile environment.
