Opposing the decision to curtail the duration of the holy Amarnath Yatra, Shri Ram Sena has threatened to launch an agitation terming the decision as arbitrary.
THE MEMBERS of Shri Ram Sena, Jammu and Kashmir, in a press conference held under the chairmanship of its state president Rajiv Mahajan, have expressed resentment against the decision to minimise the duration of the Holy Amarnath Ji Yatra this year.
The Yatra, which starts every year from the middle of June i.e from the date of Jhesth Purnima upto the festival of Raksha Bandhan, will now commence on June 29, as per the decision of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.Rajiv Mahajan, State President of Shri Ram Sena, Jammu & Kashmir, has strongly condemned the decisions of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board to reduce the duration of the pilgrimage of Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra by fifteen days.
He said that the Shrine Board of Shri Amarnath has tried to please the anti-national elements, who are against the pilgrimage. Rajiv Mahajan also said that the Shrine Board of Shri Amarnath Ji, had ignored that the Yatra was an important source of income for the transporters, hoteliers, pony owners, labourers and other commercial establishments, who earn good amount of money from the pilgrims during this Holy Yatra, which also provides revenue to the state government. Shri Ram Sena has demanded that the Shrine Board should review the decision to curtail the Yatra period in the interest of the pilgrims, who come from all over India to pay obseisance to Lord Shiva.
