Shri Ram Sena urges Governor NN Vohra to take action against Citizens Cooperative Bank
Jammu March 2: Alleging that Citizens Cooperative Bank (CCB) has remained in the clutches of a particular section of unscrupulous people who were repeatedly superseded by the government on serious charges of mismanagement and acts of serious financial irregularities, State President, Shri Ram Sena, Rajiv Mahajan appealed to Governor NN Vohra to dissolve the present Board of Directors (BoDs) of the bank and hold fresh election which have been delayed for the past six months.

However, unscrupulous officers like Dinesh Gupta managed their repeated entries back to the bank for their ulterior and extraneous purposes despite several inquiry reports gathering dust in the files of the Cooperative Department, which are awaiting action against him for years together, said Rajiv Mahajan.

Expressing surprise, Mahajan stated that what will be the fate of the bank whose ex-chairman recently superseded and the present candidate is on anticipatory bail from the High Court due to a pending FIR against him and other officers of the bank.

He also expressed shock that how the High Court had stayed the enquiry against the Chairman CCBL, Dinesh Gupta without declaring the judgment of irregularities being done by him, which the shareholders had sought.

The tenure of management has expired, he said, adding that as per provisions of the J&K Cooperative Societies Act, the management/board should commence the process of elections before two months of the expiry of it, but instead of discharging the legitimate duty of arranging democratic body, this board resumed charge again.

He demanded open enquiry against present Board headed by Chairman CCBL, dissolution of Board and fresh election to be conducted at an earliest.
