Shridhar University Pilani observes World Environment Day
No one has any doubt that Environment is changing in many aspects. United Nations is spreading awareness about Environment protection through various programs and has declared 2010 as International Year of Biodiversity.
STARTING FROM from 1972, 5th June is celebrated globally every year as the World Environment Day (WED). United Nations, through this day, stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action. The theme for 2010 is “Many Species, One Planet, One Future.”
As a socially responsible and Technology driven Institution, Shridhar University is pioneering various initiatives to counter the environmental threats in the desert state of Rajasthan.
 
One of the first steps initiated by Shridhar University towards the goal of attaining a greener tomorrow was by setting up a full fledged green house. In furtherance of the “Green Goal”, Shridhar University is committed to install large scale rain water harvesting facilities in various buildings across the 60 acre campus.
 
 
Shridhar University observed World Environment Day by conducting an open house discussion on a plethora of environmental issues with focus on the commitments of the university towards the establishment of water conservation measures. The discussion saw participation by various faculty members of the University including Prof O P Goel and was moderated by Prof BR Natarajan Pro Vice Chancellor and Director School of Engineering & Technology.
 
 
About Shridhar University: An initiative of the Sarvhit Trust, Shridhar University established under Section 2(f) of UGC Act. 1956 incorporated by Government of Rajasthan vide Ordinance No. 3 of 2009 and the same ratified by the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly vide Act No. 4 of 2010 as The SHRIDHAR UNIVERSITY ACT BIGODNA, JHUNJHUNU is located on the Pilani - Chirawa State Highway No. 13 towards Jaipur in the famed Shekhawati region widely known as the world's largest open art gallery.
 
Pilani is well known for the host of educational institutions as well as CSIR Laboratory CEERI as well as upcoming assembly centre for the prestigious Brahmos missiles project. Vide letter F.No 8-3/2010(CPP-I/PU) dated 31 May 2010, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has also notified Shridhar University under Scetion 2(f) of UGC Act 1956.
