Singles Appreciation Day: In praise of singletons
Valentine's Day is over and here comes the Singles Appreciation Day (SAD) on February 15 to assert the significance of being single and celebrate the diversity. The SAD works as an alternative to Valentine's Day for people who are not involved in a romantic relationship.
Singletons often dub Valentine's Day a 'Hallmark Holiday' because of its being highly commercialised and full of vanity. They feel that being single is a blessing and a great reason to have fun on February 15 and all the year around.

The colour of SAD is green, indicating that singletons are evergreen and subscribe for the view that one has not necessarily be in relationship to enjoy life

Mandy Hale in one her works writes that being single is no longer a lack of options - but a choice. "A choice to refuse to let your life be defined by your relationship status but to live every day Happily and let your Ever After work itself out," she claims asserting that 'Single' is an opportunity to live life on one's own terms and not apologise.

In the similar vein, Prixie say, "Single is not a status, it is a word that describes a person who is strong enough to live and enjoy life without depending on others."

Michael Bassey Johson once had said, "I don't talk with everybody because I am not everybody, I am single." So, it is being better by being single. I had read somewhere that singles have a high level of intra-personal intelligence and live a quiet and creative life - a worthy life.
