Sirhaul Delhi-Gurgaon toll plaza to go soon
Delhi-Gurgaon toll plaza may be removed soon. With this the commuters who use the toll plaza will get a breather, as now they can expect a smooth drive on the expressway. The major problem which said to be with the toll plaza is that it is not properly designed and there are many issues revolving around it. The commuters who take the toll plaza feels that its a waste of time, money and their fuel.

Ending the two-year-long dispute, the parties told the court that they will submit their agreement. The highway authority, NHAI, current toll operator DGSCL and project financier IDFC on Monday, February 17, told Delhi High Court that they have come to a consensus to replace DGSCL and remove the toll plaza at Sirhaul.

The agreement will be submitted to the court today. And if the court approves the agreement and passes a 'consent order', then the Sirhaul toll plaza will be dismantled immediately.

The remaining two toll plaza's will be operated by some other service providers. The agreement is based on the May 2013 National Highway Authority India (NHAI) proposal, which asked the current toll operator DGSCL to exit the project, as reported by Hindustan Times.

After the toll plaza gets removed, the commuters will have to pay toll at Kherki Dhaula toll plaza (Manesar and Jaipur), but the amount would be double the one which they are paying now. The NHAI will also make an alternate facility for the South Delhi Municipal Corporation to collect ‘entry tax’ from commercial vehicles entering the Capital.
