Six-member team investigating mining scam in Odisha
The Justice M B Shah Commission is presently in its second phase of investigations related to the various mining scams in the country. Since the last week it has been looking into the mining scam in Odisha.
A SIX-MEMBER team of Justice M B Shah Commission has begun its second phase of investigation into alleged irregularities in the mining sector of Odisha to find out documents in connection with iron ore and manganese mines in Odisha.
The investigating team is likely to stay in the state till October 11. The central government appointed commission probing the mining scams in different states, had visited the state in December last year. The commission has asked the state government to ensure that officials of Odisha Mining Corporation, Revenue officials and others were present to be part of the detailied investigations. The committee also meet some of the mining lease owners.
