Sky is not the limit for skydiver Felix Baumgartner
Austrian daredevil skydiver, Felix Baumgartner re-wrote the history by breaking the sound barrier and doing parachute jumping from the highest altitude and with the greatest free fall velocity.

RED BULL Stratos is the name of the project that involved Felix Baumgartner, the daredevil Austrian skydiver who flew into the stratosphere with the help of a helium balloon and from there he had a free fall on the earth.

In the process he broke the sound barrier and became the first person to do this without any vehicular power. This attempt of Baumgartner broke three world records of highest altitude jump, longest time in free fall and highest manned balloon flight.

This skydiver from the stratosphere was a great boon to all the social networking sites as millions of fans all over the world are sharing his adventurous video. The red bull posted a picture of Baumgartner after he landed on earth to Facebook and in approximately half an hour the picture got 216,000 likes, 29,000 shares and 10,000 comments.

Felix Baumgartner was born in Salzburg, Austria. He started to do skydiving when he was 16-year- old; he then joined the Austrian military where he polished his aero-acrobatic skills. He did a series of high-profile jumps which were very dangerous. In 1999, Baumgartner set the world record for highest parachute jump from the Petronas Towers in Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia. He also jumped from Taipei 101 in 2007, which is known as the tallest building in the world.

Baumgartner's next stunt was completely opposite to his earlier one. He jumped from 30 meters high arm of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro and completed the world's lowest ever base jump. This stunt earned him the tag of 'the craziest base jumper in the world'. In 2003 he literally flew across the English channel with the help of specially-made carbon fiber wings.

In an exclusive interview with the BBC, Baumgartner said, “When you're standing there in a pressure suit, the only thing that you hear is yourself breathing, and you can see the curvature of the Earth; you can see the sky's totally black.  It's kind of an awkward view because you've never seen a black sky. And at that moment, you realise you've accomplished something really big."
