For some time, internet users worldwide have been facing problems with the software application Skype, particularly in US. While Skype down may not have occurred in Middle east and Asia, a general Skype Slowdown appears to have taken place here too.
FOR THE past hour or so, internet users worldwide have been facing problems with the software application Skype, the IM service which allows users to make internet calls worldwide. Skype down complaints have surfaced from US and some parts of Europe via social networking websites like Twitter.
Some other Twitter users have reported that Skype down messages are not surfacing in Middle East and Asia where it appears to be working fine, but a general Skype Slowdown appears to have taken place worldwide, with many users not being able to access the VOIP service altogether or facing a slowdown in the manner in which instant messages are being sent to other users.
There has been an official update on the Skype status blog recently, which is acknowledging that some problems have taken place with IM service. It says, "We’re having some problems with our sign in server, so you may not be able to sign in to the Skype application or to your account as normal. If you’re already signed in to the Skype application on your computer or mobile phone, you should be able to call/IM/etc as normal. This is only affecting people who aren’t already signed in."
