Slogan-shouting youth throws slipper at Kanahiya Kumar in Hyderabad
JNU leader Kanhaiya Kumar's address at the Sundraiah Vignan Kendram on Thursday in Hyderabad turned utterly chaotic after a slogan-shouting young man threw a slipper at him. The incident occurred when Kumar was beginning his address at the seminar on constitutional rights.

The man who was seated in the audience stood up and started shouting slogans against the JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar and then threw a slipper at Kumar, which missed the target. The youth questioned why Kumar who supports terrorists like Afzal Guru was being allowed to speak at the event.

All India Students Federation (AISF) activists present over there apprehended the youth and roughed him up, while Kanhaiya Kumar appealed for restraint. Soon the police intervened and took the youth and one his accomplice into custody. Their identities have not been revealed so far.

Kahaiya Kumar continued with his speech and said that such incident don't matter to him. He said, "Do whatever you want to do. I am not the one to get scared. My way is the Gandhian way.".

The student leader asked at whose behest such an act had been carried out.

Kanhaiya Kumar, the president of Jawaharlal University Students Union (JNUSU) was arrested by the police last month on charges of sedition and is currently out on bail.

The Police did not allow Kumar to enter the Hyderabad Central University campus on Wednesday, where he had gone to address students and pay his tributes to Rohith Vemula, a Dalit scholar who had committed suicide in January this year.
