BDNCR, A socio-cultural association formed by the Bengalis from Delhi and NCR took a major step forward by organising a fun trip for slum children on Sunday (September 13), to the Rail Museum.
Thirty three children living in Joshi Colony and Mandawali locality slums in East Delhi were taken on the trip, which was organised by BDNCR in collaboration with AAKAR, an NGO that works with these children. They loved the museum, particularly the Toy Train ride as well as the various engine models on display.
The association which was started almost three years ago, has been involved in various socio cultural activities to make the surroundings better, making life easier for Bengalis in the region as well as activities related to community development. They have been organising an annual cultural event 'Unmesh' as well as blood donation camps, health camps, spending time with poor children, visiting old age homes etc.
