Smartphones to replace gaming consoles?

Being a favourite pastime, people of different age groups love playing games. Though until now, people would take to Xbox to play their favourite games, but it seems smartphones will very soon replace these consoles and became a new place for gaming world.

WHILE TRAVELLING on the Delhi metro, one can see how commuters are busy with their smartphones. They are not speaking or texting friends or relatives, but playing games or browsing the web.

Along with other parts of the world, this has been gradually taking shape in India as well. Those game freaks cannot take their x-box and play anywhere they like. But, with the introduction of various games in smartphones, people are making the best use of these phones.

Japan has been known for its sharp technological advancement and the Tokyo game show is considered to be a very important event, where various kinds of games are on full view for these game lovers. Yoshimitsu Nakamura, an Exhibitor for “we made” company says in this AFP video, “In Japan, there has been a boom in games for mobile phones over the last year, so this year, all the developers are making them.” Its popularity is only going to spread far and wide.

The trend seems to be changing as far as the gaming world is concerned, which can be justified by the ongoing Tokyo Game show, where an entire area has been dedicated to various kinds of games for tablets as well as mobile phones. Various smartphone companies are aware of this and are trying to introduce games on their mobiles so as to attract their customers.

There are chances that such a trend might catch up soon with the whole world, as there are many advantages that are associated with it. For instance, it is not expensive and can be carried anywhere. It would not occupy any space at all, unlike an Xbox or various other consoles.
