Social activist demands ban on post-poll alliance to bring realistic manifestos
Naresh Kadyan, Convener, Kadyan Khap International (KKI), and a social activist has lodged a complaint with the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to make political parties accountable for their promises and manifestos with the voters ahead of Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Kadyan, through his email to this
, giving the details of his complaint, duly
acknowledged by R.C. Khwaja, Joint Secretary, Ministry of
Parliamentary Affairs vide No. MINPA/E/2014/00059 on April 24, 2014,
has stated that the electorate in India
have been taken for a ride
since we went republic by these political parties by getting into
post poll alliance.
He has further stated that when an
electorate casts his/her vote he/she does so by taking into
consideration the respective Political Party's manifesto,
declarations and promises they make to the electorate before we cast
our vote. The voters cast their vote based on these assumptions and
it is nothing but a breach of trust amounting to forgery for these
parties to change their stands and alliances after we cast the vote
in their favour.
Kadyan has demanded that the Election
Commission must ban this practice of the political parties and make
them accountable for their promises and manifestos based on which
they seek our votes.
Often an argument is placed by these
parties that this is necessary to ensure that public money is not
spent again for fresh elections if the mandate is divided however we
feel this argument is very lame and senseless for a nation where the
same political parties taking advantage of these situations
mis-utilise tax payers money for buying selling MPs / MLA's and then
go on to make huge scams running into billions of rupees, he added.
Kadyan, giving his opinion has stated
that we firmly believe that if the post poll alliance is banned then
the same political parties shall be forced to make realistic
manifestos and shall be accountable to every promise they make to the
electorate before every election.
Hence, Kadyan Khap International's
convener Naresh Kadyan along with Abhishek Kadyan and Miss Sukanya
Kadyan had made an appeal as responsible citizens of India, to stop
this malpractice and forgery and get a cleaner electoral/political
system in place.
